Briceland Vineyards Winery

From the start, Briceland Vineyards Winery has focused on making the best wines possible using local grapes and working within our community. It has never been our plan or our goal to be a big winery. Our wines are sold in stores and restaurants locally, from Benbow to Trinidad. We deliver directly to the stores and restaurants without any distribution chain. The heart of a wine that expresses local flavor is excellent grapes. Winemaker, Joe Collins, pioneered grape growing in Southern Humboldt by planting an experimental vineyard in Briceland in the ‘70s. He still provides technical assistance to local grape-growers, from site planning and varietal choice, to pruning styles and frost protection. All of the grapes we use are grown to meet the high standards of our winemaker. The grapes we draw from surrounding counties are grown on small family farms. We work closely with these growers to consistently harvest grapes that fit the style of wine for which we are known. In the end, the reason to make wine is for people to enjoy it.
